What Are The Various Types Of Geophysical Survey Equipments?Geophysical survey equipments are used in the geophysical surveying. Geophysical surveying involves the application of archaeological techniques to determine various sites without the requirement for excavation. Various types of geophysical survey equipments are used in geophysical surveying. As geophysical surveying involves digging, the key features of all equipments made for this purpose are high strength and durability. The companies that manufacture and supply these equipments know this and hence they modify their products from time to time with the application of latest technology. Marine geophysical survey equipments are very important in the field of geophysical survey. As the name suggests these equipments are used in marine environment. Some of the important marine geophysical survey equipments are as follows: Hydrophone Arrays: Hydrophone arrays are widely used for geophysical surveying purpose. It can locate submarines, track marine mammals, and observe the international climate change by the detection of differences in temperature. Sound Surveillance System (SOSUS) is an example of marine geophysical surveying equipment. Connectors: Since the connectors are to be used underwater so they are manufactured as to give high level of accuracy and quality standard. A wide array of marine geophysical survey equipments is available in the market. Some of the key geophysical survey equipments are discussed herewith. Global Positioning Equipment is actually a full-fledged system that provides almost the precise positions. For this purposes it uses a wide satellite network with the help of an antenna and receiver. Both the singlebeam echosounder and multibeam sonar are used to determine the depth of points from the sea floor. The singlebeam echosounder emits a single high frequency of sound pulse in the water at continuous intervals. On the other hand, a multibeam sonar emits an array of high-frequency beams of sound pulses at continuous intervals. It provides the bottom coverage of cent percent which is not the case in the former equipment. Another important geophysical equipment is the Sidescan Sonar. Its main purpose is to sketch out all the objects under the sea. The sonar transmits an acoustic beam at the angle of 90 degrees from the path of the instrument and out to every side. Some amount of incident sound energy is reflected back. This energy develops due to the roughness of seabed and the objects on it. The sonar receives this energy, amplifies it and then sends it to the data recorder. The images are then produced by the sonar system which are highly accurate. Apart from these equipments some other geophysical survey equipments are subbottom profiler, microprofiler, IMAPS, multichannel seismic reflection system, sparker, magnetometer, and so on. Geophysical survey cannot be possible without the aid of geophysical survey equipments. |

Automotive GPS and Other Popular Uses of GPS
By Chris Robertson
A GPS, or Global Positioning System, is a satellite-based navigational system. It is comprised of 24 satellites that the U.S. Department of Defense placed in orbit, originally for military operations. In the 1980s the U.S. government opened up the system for civilian use. Since that time Global Positioning Systems have become increasingly popular for numerous applications.

What You Need to Know About Portable Gold Dredging
By Marc Willis
When the Gold Rush ear was still in affect, portable gold dredges was nothing but a dream. Most of the miners were restricted to only being able to work on the river banks and shallows, as well as areas that could be easily reached with their hand tools used. But after carefully surveying their dredge plans, they quickly discovered that the riverbeds hold the richest parts of the river's, but only being able to use gold pans, rockers, and sluice boxes, they were unfortunately left stranded on the river banks when it came to mining for gold.
